OMAHA – March 13, 2006 – Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2001, Daryl Kucera quickly applied his knowledge as a Certified Personal Trainer to develop a fitness program designed to combat the condition’s potentially damaging effects.
The result: Fast Forward, an organization that equips MS patients with fitness regimes compatible to their capabilities.
Now, thanks to a relationship with 186 Street Design, Kucera is leveraging open source technology to take his Omaha-based fitness solutions nationwide.
“Our program has helped many people living with multiple sclerosis, but was limited to those clients who could visit our Omaha location,” Kucera, owner of Fast Forward, said.
“As we looked for ways to expand Fast Forward’s reach, we turned to 186 Street Design to help plan and implement an online business strategy,” Kucera added.
“Daryl needed an affordable solution that provided centralized management and scalability. Together, we developed an integrated content management service and customer relationship management solution using existing open source technology,” said Colleen Galloway, director of operations, 186 Street Design. “This solution means multiple satellite locations can be managed from a single interface, along with the ability to add-on additional online community services at a fraction of the cost of proprietary systems.”
Galloway said by considering the mobility and online accessibility requirements of Fast Forward’s clients, 186 Street Design was able to provide a roadmap for usability and web accessibility initiative (WAI) compliance.
“We are positioned to grow our business like never before, in part, due to our ongoing partnership with 186 Street Design" says Daryl. He adds, “By taking the time to understanding our business and our customers, 186 Street Design allows us to start capitalizing on our investment immediately.”
